This book consists of objects I have acquired throughout the years. Objects that have come to be of certain importance to me and have become a part of who I am. For this project, I asked 47 students to relate these objects to their own lives and interpret them in any way they found suitable. I encouraged them to write without restraint and make all sorts of associations and assumptions. I left my objects and thus parts of my life open to interpretation, and in return, I was forced to see myself through other people’s eyes. My only hope is that the collection of texts and images is able to come together and create a story of its own – a story that is able to highlight the subjective experience and essence of us, humans. In the end, I chose not to reveal the real meaning or story behind my objects, for the sole purpose of them remaining up for interpretation for all who come across them.
Here you will find part of my book.
